Jingzhou's industrial economy shows positive changes in first half of 2020

In June 2020, Jingzhou's industrial added value rose by 1.2 percent and its industrial economy grew steadily; the output value of 5 counties and cities was up year on year; key industries such as special equipment manufacturing, papermaking, electric machinery and equipment manufacturing, and automotive parts grew for the second consecutive month; the number of enterprises achieving production growth increased, said a source with the Jingzhou Bureau of Economy and Information Technology on July 19. Jingzhou's industrial economy showed positive changes in the first half of 2020.

The decline in Jingzhou's industrial added value was narrowed. Jingzhou's industrial added value above the designated scale in the first half of 2020 was down 26.3 percent year on year, narrowed by 33.5 percent, 27.6 percent, 14.2 percent and 6 percent compared to that in the first two months, the first three months, the first four months and the first five months. The growth of Jingzhou's industrial added value above the designated scale in the second quarter was even year on year: down 3.1 percent in April, up 1.8 percent in May and up 1.2 percent in June respectively.

Most counties, cities and districts achieved industrial growth. In May and June, Jingzhou Economic &Technological Development Zone, Gong'an County, Jianli County, Jiangling Countyand Shishou City achieved year-on-year output value growth.

Some key industries achieved growth. In June, 21 out of Jingzhou's 35 industrial categories grew in output value. The number of industries growing in production soared from 2 in March to 21 in June. Key industries such as special equipment manufacturing,papermaking, electric machinery and equipment manufacturing, and automotive parts grew for the second consecutive month. In terms of output value, paper making,special equipment manufacturing, electric machinery and equipment manufacturing, automotive parts, chemicals and pharmaceuticals were up 24.6percent, up 32.4 percent, up 4.4 percent, up 9.7 percent, up 1.2 percent and up10 percent respectively.

The number of enterprises achieving production growth increased. The number has increased month by month since March. 209, 571, 591 and 631 enterprises achieved growth in March, April,May and June respectively. The output value of key enterprises like Kaileand Midea was up year on year.

Matching indictors got better. According to data released by the central sub-branch of the People's Bank of China, the power department, the tax department and other departments, Jingzhou's industrial production has recovered significantly since May. In late June,Jingzhou's industrial loan balance was 23.811 billion yuan, up 2.332 billion yuan from early 2020, and manufacturing loan balance was up 2.517 billion yuan.In the first half of 2020, Jingzhou achieved industrial tax revenues of 2.308 billion yuan, including 582 million yuan in May, up 26.7 percent year on year;and achieved industrial value added tax revenues of 950 million yuan, down 50.2percent year on year, including 239 million yuan in May, up 31.3 percent yearon year.
