On the afternoon of August 19, a Party and government delegation of Jingzhou visited Dongguan for the Twin City Agreement Signing Ceremony & Exchange and Cooperation Conference. At the conference, He Guangzhong, Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, exchangedideas with Liang Weidong, Secretary of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Dongguan Municipal People's Congresson deepening Jingzhou-Dongguan cooperation.
He first expressed his sincere thanks for Dongguan's strong support to Jingzhou's epidemic prevention and control. Dongguan rushed to the aid of Jingzhou at its toughest time, to help Jingzhou fight the epidemic, overcome the hardship and achieved staged decisive victory in epidemic prevent and control, he said. The twining of Jingzhou and Dongguan is not only a sublimation of friendship, but also an importantopportunity for Jingzhou's development, which will open a new page for cooperation, exchanges and common development. Jingzhou will initiatively coordinate and strengthen communication with Dongguan, work with Dongguan to establish an industrial alliance, focus on constructing Guangdong (Jingzhou)Industrial Park and serve Dongguan's enterprises investing in Jingzhou whole heartedly.
Liang said Dongguan would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Jingzhou to promote win-win cooperation in fields such as politics, economy, culture & tourism, technology innovation, medicare and health, and talent training; would promote the normalization of project exchanges and cooperation with focus on improving the exchange and cooperation mechanism; would encourage and guide mutual visits of entrepreneurs with focus on strengthening cooperation and exchanges in fields such as economic trade and technology; would promote the mutual learning and integrated development of Jingchu culture and Lingnan culture with focus on deepening people-to-people exchanges; would strengthen talent exchanges between Party and government departments, enterprises and research institutes on the two sides with focus on improving the level of talent training; and would strongly support the entry of Jingzhou's quality agricultural products into Dongguan to help Jingzhou apply to be "food base" in Guangzhou-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
At the conference, He Guangzhong presented a "drum with a tiger-shaped base and a phoenix-shapedframe" to Dongguan on behalf of Jingzhou. Xiao Yafei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Dongguan Municipal People's Government, introduced Dongguan's economic and social development.
Present were Duan Changlin,Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Congress;Wang Shouwei, Chairman of the CPPCC Jingzhou Municipal Committee; Li Wenzhen,Director of the Shenzhen Office of the Hubei Provincial People's Government;Xiang Bin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committeeand Executive Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government; ZhangYuanmei, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee,Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Jingzhou Municipal People'sGovernment and First Secretary of the Party Work Committee of Jingzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone;Chen Aiping, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jingzhou MunicipalPeople's Congress; as well as Dongguan's municipal leaders including LuoZhaoqun, Yu Lijun and Wu Zhigang.
Xiang signed the twin city agreement with Dongguan on behalf of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government. Relevant departments of the two sides also signed the agreements on human resources cooperation and industrial development cooperation.
During his stay in Guangdong,Xiang visited the Health Commission of Guangdong Province. He expressed his heartfelt thanks for the commission's all-round and selfless support in epidemic prevention and control and post-epidemic recovery. Jingzhou is working on post-epidemic recovery in full swing and has launched the campaign of "FreeTours in Hubei with Love and Joy of Jingzhou", he said, hoping the commission's experts and leaders would visit Jingzhou often to further deepen exchanges, cooperation and friendship.
