On September 8, the JingzhouMunicipal People's Government held a press conference for "Free Tours in Hubei with Love and Joy of Jingzhou",reporting the progress of the event, departments and key tourist attractions'support and reception efforts, as well as their preparations for the Mid-Autumn Festival & National Day holiday, and taking questions from reporters.

Since the launch of the event on August 8, tourists have flocked into Jingzhou from around the country, to boost the recovery of Jingzhou's tourism. By September 6, 21 tourist attractions had received 555,371 tourists. Oriental Heritage received 212,000tourists, ranking first among these attractions; Historical and Cultural Tourism Area of Jingzhou Ancient City received nearly 90,000 tourists, upnearly 200 percent year on year. In terms of tourist sources, 89 percent of tourists were from Hubei and the rest from outside Hubei. Received tourists included 213,743 individual tourists and 10,201 tourists of 733 groups.

To ensure the efficiency and orderliness of the event, the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government established a headquarters led by the vice mayor in charge and with departments directly under the municipal committee and government as members. Six working groups on publicity, epidemic control, safety management, consultation &complaint, data statistics and financial support advanced related work incollaboration.

Over the month, Jingzhou's tourism market has continued to recover, and tourism has kept shown its effect of promoting consumption make up and potential release; key tourist attractions have restored reception quickly and some have even registered year-on-year growth; tourist hotels, especially downtown hotels, have restored their occupancy rate to the level in the same period of 2019, and it has been hard to book rooms on weekends, holidays and festivals; tourism catering recovery has been speed up, and Jingzhou's characteristic catering has been better off.
