The World Skills 2021 China Hubei Optoelectronic Technology Trial will open at Jingzhou Vocational College of Technology (JVCT) on September 11. Hosted by the Human Resources and Social Security Department of Hubei Province (HBHRSSD) and the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, the three-day event will bring together 45 contestants from 13 vocational schools and 5 enterprises in Hubei. Jingzhou will send 17 contestants of 4 vocational schools including JVCT and 3 enterprises for the event.

Optoelectronic technology is one of the nine skills added to the 46th WorldSkills Competition(WorldSkills 2021). With focus on the application of optoelectronics, one of the most active industries in the world, the event will include the production of optoelectronic application terminals. Promising contestants representing Hubeiwill be selected for the WorldSkills 2021 China Trial. The top three contestants will be honored as "Hubei Technical Masters" upon approval by HBHRSSD. The top eight contestants will be selected into the provincial training team and received certificates of honor from the Organizing Committee.

Organized by WorldSkills International, the WorldSkills Competition, known as the "skillsOlympics", is an important platform for members of WorldSkills to show and exchange vocational skills.
