The Jingzhou-Zhongshan 2020 Autumn Job Fair took place in Jingzhou and Jianli from November 18 to 19. As part of the joint efforts of Jingzhou and Zhongshan to promote economic construction and employment after Covid-19, the fair offered over 9,000 jobs and attracted nearly 4,000 job seekers in Jingzhou.

The fair opened at the Jingzhou Olympic Sports Center at 9 a.m. November 19, attracting flocks of job seekers.

"I used to sold home appliances and will go to Zhongshan for an interview at the beginning of the next year as Zhongshan has mature commercial facilities," said 39-year-old Jiang Wei who has more than 10 years of sales experience. As the industry he worked in is in recession due to the Covid-19 outbreak this year, he planned to go out for a new job and signed an employment agreement with Zhongshan Senssun Weighing Apparatus Group Ltd.

According to Zhong Xuming, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Management Office, Zhongshan Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Zhongshan's human resources and social security department selected 38 outstanding enterprises for the fair, which offered over 6,400 jobs of 160 types including general worker, technician and executive. Job seekers reaching intent with employers may enjoy preferences and benefits from Zhongshan.

"We offer 1,000 to 2,000 jobs covering general worker, assembler, inspector, welder and electric control, with wages ranging from 4,000 yuan to 8,000 yuan," said Gao Haifeng, a recruiting specialist from the HR Department of Zhongshan TCL Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd. The company offered benefits such as insurance, seniority wage, annual bonus, lucky money, attendance incentive, Spring Festival fare subsidy, meal allowance and accommodation.

Hosted by the human resources and social security departments in Jingzhou and Zhongshan, the fair, with the theme "Bridge of Employment, Common Development for Guangdong and Hubei", targets laid-off workers, unemployed graduates, veterans, rural migrant workers and impoverished laborers on file, and aims to ensure the employment of key groups and high-quality employment.

Nearly 140 enterprises, including 38 from Zhongshan, over 70 from Jingzhou and over 10 from Jianli, offered over 9,000 jobs in fields such as electronics, plant protection, building materials and medical supplies. The two-day fair attracted over 4,000 job seekers and over 1,000 agreements of intent were signed.

"The fair is fruitful, and we will deliver more fairs around the Spring Festival to promote local enterprises," said Guan Zhengshi, Deputy Director of the Jingzhou Employment Service Center. All the employers from Zhongshan are working on targeted poverty alleviation and labor services, which will ensure the stable employment of Jingzhou's laborers in Zhongshan, and provide certain support in such aspects as life and career transition.
