On the afternoon of January 24, Zhou Zhihong, deputy to the Hubei Provincial People's Congress and mayor of Jingzhou City, received an exclusive interview with HBTV. During the interview, she shared the information on the work report of the provincial government and Jingzhou’s way to implement the spirit of the work report, actively seize opportunities and accelerate development.

She said, after listening to Governor Wang Xiaodong's report on the government work, she is proud to be a Hubeier. During our fight against the pandemic, flood and poverty, we have achieved fruitful outcomes instead of becoming a drag on the country. Our GDP growth recovered to 95% of last year. And it exceeded 4 trillion yuan with the per capita exceeding 10,000 US dollars. That’s remarkable.

According to her, the great achievements could not be possible without the efforts of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, which have worked based on new development phase, concept, pattern and goal. Only with clear goal and positioning can our development be focused and our efforts be concerted.

For the "14th Five-Year Plan”, the provincial government's work report put forward the overall goal of reaching 6 trillion yuan in GDP. Meanwhile, it explicated the ways to achieve the goal. Reform, opening-up, and innovation are the key to the work at the primary level. Moreover, the government report mentioned Jingzhou for many times, which proposes detailed requirements for us and shows the provincial government’s concern for Jingzhou's development.

She said that Jingzhou will conscientiously implement the relevant spirit of the report, actively seize opportunities through the implementation of the five major projects, and speed up the improvement of industrial weakness.

1. Carry out the park platform upgrading project. Jingzhou's central urban area has 11 platforms including 3 platforms at the municipal level and 8 at the county level. It will enhance the carrying capacity of the park based on the integrated development of production and the city.

2. Carry out the supplement project for industrial chain and supply chain. Around our six leading industries, efforts will be made to build four 100-billion and two 50-billion industrial clusters.

3. Carry out technological transformation projects in traditional industries. We will carry out technological transformation of our existing traditional technology enterprises. This year, we will focus on the implementation of 100 technological transformation projects.

4. Carry out the emerging industry cultivation project. The digital economy, digital enterprises and digital workshops should be applied to the supplement process of our entire industrial chain and supply chain.

5. Carry out the upgrading project of modern service industry. Jingzhou is the birthplace of Jingchu culture. To speed up the development of Jingzhou, we should not only pay attention to the industry, but also focus on our history and culture to accelerate the development of modern service industry.
