It has been more than a month since the launch of Jingzhou Shashi Airport. How was the situation of the airport in its first month of operation?

Jingzhou Shashi Airport was launched on January 30. In the last one month, the airport's destination network has expanded from Guangzhou in its maiden flight to Haikou, Sanya, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Shanghai, Guiyang, Chengdu and Hangzhou, launching up to 9 routes. Passenger can reach all parts of China from Jingzhou and Jingzhou at the same time is greeting guests from around the country.

Good memories are growing in Jingzhou's cities as air routes increase. Yao An, captain of the maiden flight from Haikou to Jingzhou; Captain Zhang Nian and Pursuer Ke Lijun of the maiden flight from Pudong to Jingzhou are all Jingzhou natives. Learning that the airport had gone into operation, they applied for the maiden flights to their hometown. They were filled with tears on the land of their hometown.

The airport has handled 27,441 passengers to date, with a passenger load factor of over 85 percent. As the first Chinese civil airport launched in the "fourteenth five-year" period, the airport achieved a brilliant start.

Jingzhou invested over 210 billion yuan in transportation in the "thirteenth five-year" period, ranking first in Hubei Province. The launch of the new airport featuring Jingchu elements and intelligent highlights has filled an important gap in Jingzhou's integrated transportation, basically creating an three-dimensional comprehensive transportation system of " waterway, highway and airway".

In the future, Jingzhou Shashi Airport will continue to develop into a safe, green, smart and humanistic airport, launch more routes and flights, and connect Jingzhou to southwestern China, northeastern China and other regions. Jingzhou is sure to fly higher and farther.

According to Zuo Xiaoping, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jingzhou Airport Construction Management Co., Ltd., the airport has launched flights to 9 cities including Guangzhou, and registered a maximum daily passenger throughput of over 2,000, a passenger load factor of over 85 percent and a punctuality rate of 87 percent, all ranking top among similar feeder airports. The airport has reached the designed capacity in terms of passenger throughput, and will start reconstruction and expansion this year to accommodate both civil aviation and general aviation. This year the airport will launch more routes, including a route to Beijing on March 28, and launch more flights connecting Jingzhou to southwestern China, northeast China and other regions farther ahead.
