The Hubei Provincial Poverty Alleviation Summary & Commendation Conference took place in Wuhan on the afternoon of April 13. 64 advanced individuals and 32 advanced collectives from Jingzhou were commended.

In recent years, Jingzhou has studied and implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important statement on poverty alleviation in depth, firmly implemented the basic strategy of targeted poverty alleviation, addressed prominent problems in poverty alleviation, and fully implemented the policies of alleviating poverty by developing industries, developing education, boosting employment and improving medical services, so as to significantly improve the income levels of impoverished people and the conditions of rural life and production, greatly enhance the combat effectiveness of grass-roots Party organizations, and achieve a complete victory in poverty alleviation.

In Jingzhou's fight against poverty, 1,613 work teams and 4,109 officials were stationed in villages to work on poverty alleviation, 66,647 officials and workers provided counterpart assistance to impoverished households, and a multitude of advanced individuals and collectives emerged. By late 2020, 131,494 impoverished households and 400,524 impoverished people on file in Jingzhou had all shaken off poverty, and 371 impoverished villages (including 44 severely impoverished villages) had left poverty behind. The per capita net income of Jingzhou's impoverished people on file soared from over 3,000 yuan in 2015 to 11,543 yuan in 2020, and all the 10 counties, districts and county-level cities under Jingzhou exceeded the national average in terms of per capita net income.
