Press Corps for National Human Rights Action Plan visits Jingzhou

On May 13, the press corps for National Human Rights Action Plan visited Jingzhou, conducting interviews on the great protection of the Yangtze River and the implementation of the rural rejuvenation strategy in Jingzhou.

The corps is made up of heads of the Human Rights Affairs Bureau and Information Bureau of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee; Heads of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee; Zhang Wanhong, Executive Director of the Human Rights Institute, Wuhan University; as well as journalists from over 10 central and provincial media outlets like People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency and China Media Group.

In the morning, the corps conducted an interview themed "the great protection of the Yangtze River" in Shashi District, visiting Guanyinji, Yangmatou and Liulinzhou to find out the situation of water control, wharf regulation and Yangtze River waterfront governance in Jingzhou; in the afternoon, in Shuangdian Village, Chuandian Town, Jingzhou District; Lingjiao Lake National Wetland Park in Caiqiao Village, Mashan Town, Jingzhou District; and Chu Culture Tourism Zone in Tongling Village, Balingshan Town, Jingzhou District, the corps interviewed about the construction of recreational and sports facilities, B&B and folk customs, rural living environment improvement, wetland conservation, rural tourism development and beautiful countryside construction in these villages.

The corps will conduct interviews in cities along the Yangtze River, with Jingzhou as the second leg of its tour in Hubei and Yichang as the next.
