Update information on COVID-19 cases in Hubei on May 22, 2021

No new case of COVID-19 was found in Hubei on May 22. Yesterday saw no new suspected case, discharged case or death.

One asymptomatic case was found in Hubei on May 22 (an inbound passenger on Flight CZ8182 from Nairobi, Kenya to Shenzhen, China on April 17). No asymptomatic case developed to the confirmed one. No patient had been discharged from quarantine. Three asymptomatic patients were under medical quarantine (two were inbound passengers on Flight CZ8140 from Islamabad, Pakistan to Wuhan on April 26 and May 11; one was an inbound passenger on Flight CZ8182 from Nairobi, Kenya to Shenzhen on April 17). 407 close contacts were under medical quarantine (one was the close contact of the confirmed patient and asymptomatic patient on Flight CZ8140 from Islamabad, Pakistan to Wuhan on March 22; 215 were close contacts of the asymptomatic patient on the Flight CZ8140 on May 11; 149 were close contacts of the confirmed patient on Flight CZ350 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Guangzhou on April 30; 38 were close contacts of the asymptomatic patient on the Flight CZ8182 from Nairobi, Kenya to Shenzhen on April 17; four were close contacts of the confirmed patient outside of Hubei province in the country).

There are two confirmed cases (both were inbound passengers: one on Flight CZ8140 from Islamabad, Pakistan to Wuhan on April 26, the other on Flight CZ350 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Guangzhou on April 30) and no suspected case. As of 24:00, May 22, a total of 63,645 patients were cured and discharged from the hospital. 4,512 people died of the disease. A total of 68,159 cumulative confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been reported in Hubei province.
