Jingzhou, known throughout the country for its light textile industry in the last century, boasts a solid foundation for the textile industry. This year Jingzhou started to practice a chief system for key industry chains and launched the project of strengthening, extending and smoothing chains, including the textile & apparel industry chain.
Hot on the heels of the June 18 Shopping Festival, in the bustling workshop of Jingzhou Hongye Knitting Apparel Co., Ltd. (Hongye Kitting) in Cenhe Tow, all its production lines were operating at full speed and workers were racing against time for orders.
Hongye Knitting is a leading knitting enterprise in Cenhe which has kept growing in sales in recent years. To improve product quality, the company has accelerated technology renovation, added equipment such as intelligent robots and cutting beds, improved its intelligent manufacturing level and taken the lead in establishing the first physics and chemistry laboratory in Cenhe to detect the color fastness, grammage and formaldehyde content of fabrics. The company is supported by 15 weaving mills, 3 dyeing mills and 4 printing mills in Jingzhou.
To reduce the water and electricity consumption of enterprises, early in 2008, Jingzhou planned a printing & dyeing industry park with an advanced concept, and set up large sewage facilities similar to "public toilets" to recycle waste produced by the park, so as to attract flocks of printing & dyeing enterprises to move in.
Through tightening quality control and developing new marketing paths, Cenhe's infant & children's wear industry has kept developing. In May 2020, Shashi District released 20 measures supporting the agglomerative development of the textile & apparel industry. The government planned to earmark 100 million yuan annually to set up an industrial cluster development fund to reward enterprises for upgrading and brand building. An integral industry chain comprising cotton processing, spinning, weaving, printing & dyeing and clothing manufacture has formed in Cenhe, and is gradually extending downward to design & packaging, logistics distribution, financial information and other industries. Shashi also invited experts of the China National Textile & Apparel Council to formulate a decade plan for industrial development. According to the plan, Shashi will invest 1.87 billion yuan to build "Golden Childhood" Industrial Town to polish the golden brand of "Chinese Famous Infant & Children's Wear Town", and create an industrial cluster with an output value of 40 billion yuan within a decade to become a "Central China sample" in the industry.
Jingzhou has established a work leading group on the textile & apparel industry, is planning to build an infant & children and knitting wear production base in Shashi based on key enterprises like Hongye Knitting, build a printing & dyeing base based on enterprises like Jiaye, build textile bases in Gong'an and Shishou based on leading textile enterprises like Jin'an, and build an apparel & home textile production base based on enterprise like Yusha Group. An integral industry chain is taking shape in an accelerated manner.
