The comprehensive revenue of Jingzhou’s tourism reaches 14.9 billion yuan in the first half of 2021

Accoring to a source released by Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Toursim, Jingzhou saw a strong recovery in tourism in the first half, with the red toursim booming and siginificant toursim consumption boosting. According to statistics, Jingzhou received 26.86 million tourists, with a comprehensive tourism revenue of 14.9 billion yuan from January to June, respectively restoring to 109% and 98% of their pre-epidemic levels,

compared with 24.64 million tourists and 15.2 billion yuan in tourism revenue of the same period in 2019.

In the first half of the year 2021, the tourism market recovered strongly. The number of tourists during the Spring Festival holiday and the May Day reached 2.029 million, 3.3083 million respectively, making Jingzhou on the list of the New National Popular City. The red toursim was popular with over 5 million visitors. Tourism consumption has been significantly boosted, with per capita comprehensive consumption of 550 yuan in terms of tourism transportation, accommodation, catering, shopping, and entertainment.

Since the beginning of this year, Jingzhou has adhered to the integration and construction of major cultural tourism projects. Up to now, 117 tourism projects with a total investment of 135.6 billion yuan have been seleted in the project list, mainly focusing on cultural protection, inheritance and utilization, red tourism and revolutionary district construction, national fitness project, Jingzhou urban cultural center (art gallery, public art museum, grand theater), Jingchu great relic inheritance and development project, etc. Among which, 19 100-million-yuan projects will be renewed and newly built in 2021 with an investment of 22.7 billion yuan.

During the “fourteenth five-year” period, Jingzhou will plan at a high starting point, high-standard construction, and high-quality operation to accelerate the construction of major tourism demonstration projects and products.Among them, it includes the construction of eight major tourist products, namely, the Chinese Chu Culture Museum, Jingzhou Ancient City Cultural Tourism Zone, Chu King's Chariot and Horse Array Tourism Zone, Shashi Yangmatou Cultural and Creative Park, Songzi Weishui National Tourism Resort, Shishou Taoyuan Town, Honghu Cultural Tourism New District; upgrade two leading brands, namely national 5A-level tourist attractions and national-level tourist resorts; create four characteristic tourist routes, namely, "Chu Charm Han Verse" cultural exploration tour, "Red Road" publicity and education research tour, "Jingjiang Style" ecological science tour, "Jianghan Water Town" holiday tour.

Jingzhou will plan to form a layout of "one core, one belt, two wings, and six groups" to support the development of tourism, and strive to create a tourism destination of Chinese Chu culture, a demonstration zone for the development of Jingchu culture inheritance and innovation, and cultural tourism consumption Agglomeration area along the Yangtze River International Golden Tourism Belt.
