On the morning of July 31, the groundbreaking ceremony of the first major projects in Yidu·Songzi Coordinated Development Pilot Zone of Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen-Enshi City Cluster took place in Songzi. The pilot zone will blaze a trail as the first move of the city cluster. 51 projects of Songzi and Yidu broke ground, with a total investment of 34.3 billion yuan.

Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government; and Ma Zejiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Yichang Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Yichang Municipal People's Government attended the ceremony. Also present were Jingzhou's municipal leaders including Liu Aihua, Jin Peng and Lin Hong, as well as Yichang's municipal leaders including Zhao Jixiong, Wang Yuancheng, Tan Yeming, Li Xiangdong and Jiang Zhengxiong. 

At the ceremony, a head of the CPC Yidu Municipal Committee, introduced the project cooperation in the pilot zone. Yidu and Songzi signed the MOU on Yidu·Songzi Coordinated Development Pilot Zone of Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen-Enshi City Cluster.

According to the arrangements of the municipal committees and the municipal people's governments of Jingzhou and Yichang for "promoting pilot practices in counties and supporting Yidu and Songzi in jointly building Yidu·Songzi Coordinated Development Pilot Zone of Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen-Enshi City Cluster", the two cities have seized major opportunities, established a cooperation mechanism, defined the cooperation program, made a cooperation list, jointly promoted the accelerated construction of projects such as the green and recycling chemical industry agglomeration area with an investment of 10 billion yuan, so as to achieve a good start in coordinated development.

At the ceremony, 26 projects of Songzi broke ground, with a total investment of 17.1 billion yuan, including a planned investment of 6.21 billion yuan in 2021, which are expected to generate an annual output value of 9 billion yuan and annual tax revenues of over 1 billion yuan, and create 2,400 jobs; 25 projects of Yidu broke ground, with a total investment of 17.2 billion yuan, including a planned investment of 6 billion yuan in 2021, which are expected to generate an annual output value of 9 billion yuan and annual tax revenues of 1.095 billion yuan, and create 2,510 jobs.
