Aiming at the global spread of COVID-19 and the occurrence of sporadic cases at home, Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, has recently convened the county, city and district video conference, the work conference on epidemic prevention and control, and the conference of the municipal headquarters of epidemic prevention and control, to analyze the current situation of epidemic prevention and control in Jingzhou, and arrange the next-stage epidemic prevention and control work.

Zhou stressed that we should be more politically sensitive, enhance our understanding and quickly launch emergency response, to keep the epidemic under control and the economy going. We should firmly defend the "southern gate" of Hubei, assume the responsibility for local management, and stay vigilant to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the city and the re-entry of it. We should focus on key groups, areas and positions, step up efforts to protect "people, goods and places" from COVID-19, and tighten the control and check of four key groups, including persons from abroad, persons from medium & high-risk areas, persons that previously traveled or resided in medium & high-risk areas and persons in key industries. We should tighten control in scenic areas, malls & supermarkets and other assembly occupancies, and take measures such as temperature measurement and prevention of gathering. We should improve the capability of emergency disposal, strengthen early warning and monitoring, emergency disposal, professional team preparation and material storage, and create a whole-chain closed-loop emergency disposal system. We should strengthen supervision over and guidance to counties, cities and districts, establish working groups on joint supervision, and promote the implementation of prevention and control measures. We should accelerate vaccination, optimize convenience services, and ensure that all people eligible for vaccination get vaccinated, so as to consolidate the immune shield. We should strengthen publicity and education, guide the people in protecting themselves and developing good hygienic habits, and coordinate efforts to prevent and control the epidemic, so as to create a safer and healthier environment for Jingzhou to build a regional center city and realize high-quality economic and social development.
