On August 4, Ying Yong, Secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Commander in Chief of the Hubei Provincial Headquarters of Epidemic Prevention and Control, visited Jingzhou to inspect and supervise epidemic prevention and control. He extended cordial greetings to officials and workers at the forefront of epidemic prevention and control, and convened a meeting to study how to further epidemic prevention and control in Jingzhou.

Ying stressed that Party committees and governments at all levels in Hubei, especially leaders and officials at all levels, should earnestly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction in current epidemic prevention and control, as well as the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, put the people and lives first, give top priority to epidemic prevention and control, perform their due responsibilities and try their best, work solidly and meticulously to ensure the full implementation of prevention and control measures with a high degree of consciousness in terms of thinking and actions, strictly implement the requirements of making quick response, tightening control, expanding the scope of screening and ensuring sufficient quarantine points, protecting "people, goods and places" from the virus and integrating points, and pooling efforts from all sides in epidemic prevention and control, firmly prevent imported cases, contain the spread of the epidemic in Hubei, and minimize the epidemic at the fastest speed, through the most effective measures and within the shortest time, so as to keep consolidating and expanding the decisive results of the battle defending Wuhan and Hubei.

At the meeting, Jingzhou and the Jingzhou working group of the provincial headquarters of epidemic prevention and control reported their epidemic prevention and control work and next-stage arrangements.

At the critical moment when Hubei is racing against time and fighting the virus, all areas should attach great importance to epidemic prevention and control, ensure the fulfillment of four responsibilities, and implement prevention and control measures practically, Ying said. As a key area for epidemic prevention and control in Hubei, Jingzhou should conduct control effectively, precisely and resolutely, ensure that measures are taken to contain the spread of the epidemic, achieve tangible results in epidemic prevention and control and restore economic and social order as soon as possible.

Ying stressed that we should prevent the virus from spreading in Jingzhou, further advance work such as epidemiological investigation, identification, nucleic acid testing and epidemic prevention and control in communities, and resolutely cut off the channels of epidemic transmission in Hubei. We should prevent imported cases, protect people, goods and places from the virus, and tighten close-loop management. We should further identify loopholes of prevention and control, consolidate key positions for prevention and control, and implement prevention and control requirements, keep improving the early detection mechanism featuring multi-point trigger, and implement prevention and control measures for hospital infection and quarantine places. We should hold important defensive lines in communities, and strictly implement prevention and control measures such as wearing masks, keeping a distance of one meter, taking temperatures and showing health codes in assembly occupancies. We should give full play to the fortress role of grass-roots Party organizations and the exemplary and vanguard role of Party members, and designate Party members and officials of government offices to provide volunteer services to communities.
