On the afternoon of August 16, Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government and Commander in Chief of the Jingzhou Municipal Headquarters of Epidemic Prevention and Control, headed for the front-line of epidemic prevention and control and the sites of enterprise production, to coordinate epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development. We should earnestly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction, as well as the arrangements of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and the Hubei Provincial People's Government, lay equal emphasis on epidemic prevention and development, prevent and control the epidemic in a scientific, targeted and effective manner, serve corporate development wholeheartedly, keep the epidemic under control and the economy going, she said.

Highways are important passes for the prevention of imported COVID-19 cases. Zhou headed for the central Jingzhou toll station on Erenhot-Guangzhou Highway and the Jiangdian epidemic checkpoint on State Highway 207, to inspect epidemic prevention and visit front-line medical staff and traffic staff, encouraging them to firm up confidence, stick to posts and resolutely hold the passes for the prevention of imported COVID-19 cases in Jingzhou. She stressed that heads of governments and departments should deploy epidemic check channels for vehicles in a scientific and rational manner according to the situation of epidemic prevention and control in Jingzhou, to ensure vehicle safety. We should provide work and life support to front-line staff to show our humanistic care, she added.

On the project site of Yijun Yaoneng New Materials and at Nenter & Co., Inc., Zhou listened to the enterprises' introductions to epidemic prevention and control, production, R&D and the progress of new projects, and coordinated to solve their problems. She stressed that we should respond to enterprises' appeals, help enterprises address practical problems such as electricity use, land use and gas use, step up new project construction, and strive to put the new projects into production as early as possible, so as to promote the high-quality development of Jingzhou. With the concerted efforts of the whole city, Jingzhou has changed into a low-risk area and maintained stability in epidemic prevention and control, but the situation remains complex in Hubei and China. As the task of preventing imported cases is arduous, we should stay vigilant and make unremitting efforts on regular epidemic prevention and control. As the main front for industrial development, while conducting regular and targeted epidemic prevention and control, Jingzhou Economic & Technological Development Zone should focus on development, go all out for project construction and enterprise service, and serve enterprises whenever requested, so as to make greater contributions to building Jingzhou into a regional center city and a new "growth pole" of Hubei.
