On August 16 and 17, Wu Jin, secretary of Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee, visited Honghu City to carry out Party history learning and education, as well as enterprises, the Party school and communities to inspect the work on Party building. Wu stressed that it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on July 1, inherit the Red genes and carry forward the revolutionary tradition, striving to win still greater successes and live up to the expectations of revolutionary predecessors, the country and the people.

The Martyrs' Monument stands right in the center of the Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery in the Western Hunan-Hubei Soviet Area where trees and grass looked even greener in a solemn atmosphere after the rain.

Wu Jin stepped into the Cemetery, in the company of relevant city leaders, comrades from the units directly under the municipal government and the municipal Party committee as well as Honghu City. Standing in front of the bronze statue of Marshal He Long, the party bowed respectfully, recalling of the difficult years of the marshal in the revolutionary base in the Western Hunan-Hubei Soviet Area.

Later, Wu Jin came to the Martyrs' Monument Square and presented flowers to the martyrs.

With the playing of the passionate song March of the Volunteers, everyone started to sing the national anthem of the People's Republic of China in unison. After that, Wu Jin bowed and mourned with others, reminiscing about the martyrs who died heroically for the liberation of the Chinese people and the construction of New China.

After the mourning, the song Flower Offering was played. With flower baskets in their hands, the staff walked slowly to the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument and placed them on the base. The ribbons on the flower baskets which read "Tribute Paid from Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee" and "Revolutionary Martyrs are Immortal" were seen fluttering in the wind. With a solemn and respectful look, Wu Jin walked slowly onto the base of the monument and stepped forward to put the ribbons of the flower baskets in place.

"I volunteer to join the Communist Party of China..." Led by Wu Jin, the comrades present, standing in front of the Party flag, with their right fists raised, relived the oath of joining the Party. The sonorous oath was heard across the Martyrs Cemetery.

After taking the oath, Wu Jin led the comrades to the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument to pay tribute.

Later, Wu Jin visited the Memorial Hall of the Revolutionary History of the Western Hunan-Hubei Soviet Area, where the party learned about the stories of He Long, Zhou Yiqun and other proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation as well as countless local heroes about creating the revolutionary base in the Western Hunan-Hubei Soviet Area and carrying out the arduous revolutionary struggle.

During the visit to the Memorial Hall, Wu Jin said, reviewing the past and looking ahead, we must carry forward the revolutionary tradition, boost our morale and march forward in the correct direction with the Party's struggle and great achievements, strengthen our faith and pool forces with the glorious tradition and fine style of the Party, and create enlightening ideas and shape our character with the Party's historical experience and practice, striving to win still greater successes and live up to the expectations of revolutionary predecessors, the country and the people.

During his stay in Honghu, Wu Jin also visited Yongxin New Materials, Da'an Pharmaceutical, Samlip Auto Light, New Hongye Food, as well as the Honghu Tourist Port Project, and came to the Party School of C.P.C Honghu Committee and Chunyuting Community in Xindi Sub-District to inspect the work on Party building.

Liu Huiping, member of the Standing Committee of Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department of Jingzhou Municipal Party Committee, joined Wu in the investigation.
