Notice on Raising Jingzhou's Meteorological Disaster (Rainstorm) Emergency Response from Level IV to Level III

Members of the Municipal Work Leading Group on Meteorological Disaster Emergency Response,

According to the latest meteorological data, Jingzhou will see local torrential rains and rainstorms from west to east between the afternoon of August 23 and August 24, bringing along severe convection weather such as thunder, lightning and gale and short-time heavy rainfall. Upon discussion, we have decided to raise Jingzhou's meteorological disaster (rainstorm) emergency response from level IV to level III as of 10:00 PM August 22.

After the launch of the level III rainstorm emergency response, each unit should perform respective responsibilities, strengthen emergency coordination and lose no time on emergency disposal in accordance with the Jingzhou Municipal Plan for Meteorological Disaster Emergency Response.

First, you should schedule water resources properly and strengthen the flood prevention of rivers, lakes and reservoirs;

Second, you should prevent disasters caused by heavy rainfalls, including medium and small river floods, mountain torrents, geological disasters, city water-logging and farmland water-logging;

Third, you should take early measures to prevent disasters caused by local severe convection weather such as short-time heavy rainfall and thunderstorm gale;

Fourth, you should prevent the possible impact of severe weather on agricultural production and traffic operation;

Fifth, you should divert the affected people to safe places in time.
