The General Office of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and the General Office of the Hubei Provincial People's Government have recently issued a notification on the results of the selection of provincial peaceful cities in 2020. As a result, Jingzhou was selected as a "provincial peaceful city" for the 16th consecutive year, ranking among the top three in the province.

The CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government have attached great importance to peaceful Jingzhou building, assumed the political responsibility of maintaining local stability, earnestly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction in peaceful China building, as well as the important decisions and arrangements of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government and the Politics and Law Commission of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee for peaceful Hubei building, kept strengthening systematic management, law-based management, comprehensive management and source management based on Jingzhou's facts, maintained security and stability, and made all-out efforts to prevent and address the "post-epidemic syndrome", so as to ensure the prolonged political and social stability of Jingzhou, and provide strong political and legal guarantee for achieving a dual victory in epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development. In 2020, the public sense of security, the law enforcement satisfaction and the effect of crackdown on gang crimes were 98.47 percent, 93.39 percent and 95.57 percent respectively, up 1.7 percent, up 1.17 percent and up 2.37 percent year on year respectively; Jingzhou was ranked first in the province in terms of the effective rate of conflict and dispute settlement and was above the average levels of the province in terms of "four indexes". Also, Jingzhou was selected as a provincial advanced city for crackdown on gang crimes and ranked second in the provincial assessment of joint railroad maintenance. In September 2017, Jingzhou was granted "Chang'an Cup" by the Central Committee for Comprehensive Management of Public Security.

Since the beginning of this year, with focus on municipal pilot social governance modernization, Jingzhou has advanced the implementation of the system of peace building responsibility, the prevention and resolution of risks and conflicts, the crackdown and rectification campaign, grass-roots foundation building, and grass-roots social governance innovation, so as to ensure the overall social stability of Jingzhou. In 2021, the number of criminal cases occurring in Jingzhou was down 26.7 percent year on year and the total number of public complaints was down 28.5 percent year on year. Jingzhou maintained good public order in the fight against the "Delta" variant of COVID, and ensured public security and stability without the occurrence of six types of cases amid the celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China, so as to defend the bottom line of peace and stability.
