Jingzhou's new minimum wage standards to come into effect as of September 1

According to the Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, to ensure the subsistence allowances of laborers, Jingzhou will raise its minimum wage standards as of September 1. Then the minimum wages in downtown Jingzhou will be 1,650 yuan per month and 16.5 yuan per hour respectively; the minimum wages in towns, county-level cities and districts will be 1,520 yuan per month and 15 yuan per hour respectively.

The Hubei Provincial People's Government has recently released the Notice for Adjusting Hubei's Minimum Wage Standards, planning to adjust Hubei's minimum wage standards as of September 1, 2021. After the adjustment, the minimum wages of full-time laborers and part-time laborers in Jingzhou District and Shashi District will be 1,650 yuan per month and 16.5 yuan per hour respectively; the minimum wages of full-time laborers and part-time laborers in Jiangling County, Songzi City, Gong'an County, Shishou City, Jianli City and Honghu City will be 1,520 yuan per month and 15 yuan per hour respectively.

The standards apply to enterprises, individual economic organizations, private non-enterprise entities and other organizations (employers) in Jingzhou, as well as laborers employed by them. Government offices, public institutions, social groups, as well as laborers employed by them are also subject to the standards.

In accordance with relevant regulations, after the adjustment, employers should negotiate wages with labor union organizations and laborers based on their economic benefits and guidance wage levels, to determine rational wages. Determined wages should not be lower than local minimum wages. Where laborers work normally within statutory working hours or within working hours agreed in legal labor contracts, their wages should be not lower than local minimum wages.

Minimum monthly wages exclude wages for extended working hours, allowances for special working environments and conditions such as middle shift, night shift, high temperature, low temperature, down-hole operations, and toxic and harmful operations, as well as labor benefits prescribed by laws, regulations and the State.
