2021 Jingzhou Campaign on Energy Conservation Promotion Week launched on August 23. Themed on “promote energy and resource conservation, and the green and low-carbon development‘’, the weeklong campaign will conduct online and offline events to advocate an energy-saving lifestyle, stir up a spree of publicity trend, and assist to realize carbon dioxide emissions peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060.

According to Notice of 2021 National Campaign on Energy Conservation Week and Low Carbon Day, the weeklong campaign will last from August 23 to 29, among which August 25 is Nation Low-carbon Day with the theme of “low-carbon lifestyle, green future”.

The weeklong campaign will conduct online and offline events due to the epidemic. For online events, focusing on industrial energy conservation, ecological energy conservation, public energy conservation, building energy conservation, transportation energy conservation and agricultural energy conservation, local media will actively promote energy conservation in cooperation with relevant departments of development and reform, ecological environment, economic information, housing construction, transportation, agriculture and rural affairs, public institutions and other departments, to conduct interviews and prize-giving quiz to introduce Jingzhou’s achievements in energy conservation and carbon reduction, and to promote the concept of ecological civilization and knowledge of energy conservation and carbon reduction.

For offline events, by consultations with energy-saving experts and independent publicity by enterprises, we will summarize and exchange regional energy-saving models and experiences, create an atmosphere of energy conservation and efficiency enhancement of the public, popularize energy-saving standards and labels, promote advanced and applicable energy-saving technologies and products, guide the public to actively practice green lifestyle, and advocate the whole society to further transform the concept of energy conservation into practical actions.

It is said that focusing on the national target of realizing carbon dioxide emissions peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060, taking carbon reduction and emission as the overall starting point, Jingzhou will initiate the preparation of a carbon emission peaking action plan this year, and carry out the construction of demonstration projects in a near-zero carbon emission zone. The first batch of pilot projects will be conducted in five areas, towns, industrial parks, communities, campuses, and commerce. Jingzhou will declared 14 pilot zones for near-zero carbon emission zones, and 25 industrial enterprises will be included in the carbon trading compliance control rankings.
