Water system project construction is accelerating in Shabei New District, with a ribbon water system basically formed

The water system project of Shabei New District broke ground in last August. How does the construction going as one year passed?

The Shabei water system is divided into four sections for construction. As one of the best viewing spots, the humanistic water bank section is located in the third construction section. This river of the section is wide, with colorful permeable brick garden roads on both sides, and two landscape trestle bridges on the water. The north side is mainly a viewing platform, and the south side is a natural ecological retort, planting camphor, luan tree, winter plum and other variety of landscape plants.

With the continuous development and expansion of the city, many water systems in the city formed disconnected canals, and the circulation is not smooth. To completely address the problem of drainage in the Shabei area, the Shabei water system was excavated, repaired, and connected to 5 ditches (Shabei Irrigation Canal, West Canal, Garden Canal, East Canal and Matsiegang Canal), and integrating the drainage rectification of this area.

At the same time, it will build some sports facilities including two 5-a-side soccer fields, four basketball courts, four gateball fields, and six badminton courts.

It is noted that the construction project of the Shabei water system covering the area east of Jingzhou-Xiangyang Expressway, west of Hongxing Road, south of Fuxing Avenue, and north of Jingsha Avenue. With a total investment of 324 million yuan, the total planning area is 77.99 hectares and the total length is about 10.7 kilometers.

Currently, the ribbon water system with the length of 10 kilometers is basically formed, the interwoven waters look like a silkbelt embraced around Shabei New District from an aerial view.
