On September 23, Wu Jin, Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, visited Gong'an County for a survey on economic and social development, supervising the handling of the key proposals of the CPPCC Jingzhou Municipal Committee. He stressed that Gong'an should earnestly learn and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the "July 1" celebration, break rigid mindsets to seek breakthroughs in development, upgrade the county economy by the rise of industries, bolster industry, strive to build a supporting pole for the development of the county economy, and accelerate the formation of the modern papermaking industry cluster, so as to help Jingzhou develop into a paper city in Central China.

At Gong'an Industrial Park, Wu visited enterprises like Jixin Textile, Changjiang Pharmaceutical, Shine Star, Hubei Axle, Jiatai Horologe and Wanhua Composite Stalk Board. He inquired about the enterprises' production and operation, product R&D and market development, encouraging entrepreneurs in Gong'an to maintain patience and focus, concentrate themselves on primary business and keep making innovation.

Wu stressed that Gong'an should bolster industry, first develop industry, build a solid foundation for industrial development, take the market as orientation, optimize the product and industry structures through technology renovation, scale expansion and digital empowerment, foster more specialized, refined, distinctive and innovative enterprises, keep enhancing core competitiveness, promote the vertical chaining and horizontal clustering of superior industries, and integrate industrialization and urbanization. He hoped that Gong'an would conduct stationed, intermediary and industry chain investment promotion vigorously, give play to the role of local enterprises to create a dynamic prospect of concerted efforts for investment promotion, break rigid mindsets to seek breakthroughs in development, further enhance its working spirit with a strong sense of urgency, crisis and responsibility, and strive to promote the high-quality development of the county economy.

Wu also visited Shanying Central China Paper and Taison Paper, to supervise the handling of the key proposal on building a paper city in Central China. At a subsequent meeting, the proposer, organizer, undertaker and the spearheading industrial department delivered reports. He required that they should seize the development opportunity to develop Jingzhou into a paper city in Central China, improve the production capacity in an accelerated manner, make great efforts to extend and strengthen industry chains, focus on building a modern papermaking industry cluster, make clear the development goal, refine industrial plans, and promote the greater development of the papermaking industry while improving the industry chain.

Relevant departments should enhance their stance, and take proposal handling as an important opportunity of finding out public opinions, pooling public wisdom, discovering and solving problems, improving work and promoting development, Wu said, hoping that CPPCC organizations at all levels and CPPCC members would continue to leverage the strengths of the CPPCC in gathering talents and pooling wisdom, and offer advice on the high-quality development of Jingzhou's economy and society.
