At the Municipal Videoconference on Epidemic Control on the morning of October 21, Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government and Commander in Chief of the Jingzhou Municipal Headquarters of Epidemic Prevention and Control, stressed that we should fully recognize the severe situation of current epidemic control and tighten epidemic control.

Zhou noted that we should earnestly implement the requirements of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council and the provincial headquarters of epidemic prevention and control, and conduct regular monitoring and targeted inspection, so as to weave a tight prevention and control network. We should expand the scope, strengthen epidemiological investigation and tracking, intensify nucleic acid testing and screening, fast identify travelers from and back to key areas under control, and strictly implement the policies of centralized quarantine and closed-loop management. 

Zhou stressed that we should strengthen measures and conduct targeted control. We should activate the prevention and control system, and the work leading groups on epidemic control, epidemiological investigation, transportation, cold chain goods check and community control should immediately get into a state of emergency. We should conduct targeted control, give top priority to the prevention of imported COVID-19 cases, focus on key groups, areas and links, and protect "people, goods and places" from COVID-19. We should strictly implement the requirements of epidemic prevention and control such as QR code scanning registration, "one-meter line" and mask wearing. We should provide guarantee for epidemic prevention and control, reserve prevention and control forces, and cope with the epidemic steadily.

Zhou stressed that we should see that the responsibilities of parties involved in epidemic prevention and control are fulfilled in the critical period of epidemic disposal. We should coordinate epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development, well schedule key work related to industries and projects, keep the epidemic under control and the economy going, and quickly organize booster vaccination so as to build a herd immunity shield.
