The past five years have seen the persistent improvement of Jingzhou's urban functions, the fast changes of its urban and rural outlook, as well as the constant enhancement of the people's happiness, sense of gain and sense of security under the strong leadership of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government.
The reconstruction and extension project of Changhu Boulevard will build a northward "golden channel" linking Shabei Area and Ji'nan Eco-Culture & Tourism Area. Expected to be completed next August, the project will bring Jingzhou a fast, efficient and convenient city commuting experience.
As Changhu Boulevard is about to be completed, Garden North Road, Yinhu Road, Tianhu Road, Xihu Road, Qinghe Road, Hongmen North Road extension and other roads in Shabei Area are open to traffic, a trunk road network, constituted by five horizontal lines and three vertical lines, has taken initial shape in Guanju New City, Shabei Area. At the next stage, Guanju New City will advance the relocation of the Jingzhou Public Health Service Center, the Jingzhou Blood Center and the Party School of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, as well as the construction of projects like Phase 3 of Jingzhou Ocean World Water Park and Jingzhou Hengfeng Science & Technology Industry Park, to promote the northward extension of the downtown.
Over the past five years, Jingzhou has further improved its carrying capacity by completing 27 trunk roads including Fuxing Boulevard, and been ranked among "large cities" in terms of downtown size.
The Jingzhou Shashi Airport was launched on January 30, 2021. This is not only an air hub linking Jingzhou to the world, but also a symbol of Jingzhou's leap. To date Jingzhou has launched non-stop flights to 17 Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Over the past five years, Jingzhou has completed 350 kilometers of highways and had highways accessible to all its counties. With Haolebaoji-Ji'an Railway running through Jingzhou, Jingmen-Jingzhou Railway breaking ground, "one port and nine port areas" operating soundly, an integrated transportation pattern has taken initial shape.
Old community renovation concerns the people's livelihood and well-being. Bumpy cement roads in Wangbanqiao Community, Shashi District have been repaired and asphalted. The renovation of the first 97 old communities including Wangbanqiao Community has been completed and these communities are being inspected for acceptance. Through housing improvement and infrastructure renovation, the living environment of 38,000 households has improved greatly and the old communities have rejuvenated.
Jingbei Branch of Jingzhou Central Hospital (Phase 1) opened in June 2020 as a move to promote the targeted and professional development of the hospital's medical level. This modern general hospital has become a wonderful view in Jingbei New City.
Over the past five years, Jingzhou has built up New Jingzhou Library, the Jingzhou Public Health Center and the Jingzhou Disease Control Center, developed into a national hygienic city, a national water-saving city and a provincial civilized city, persistently advanced urban renewal, renovated 154,000 houses in shantytowns, created 10 featured agricultural towns, 10 strong industrial towns and 146 model beautiful villages, comprehensively improved urban management, and realized the harmless disposal of domestic garbage in all urban and rural areas. Jingzhou's urban construction has met public needs and warmed the people's hearts, to enhance their happiness, sense of gain and sense of security.
