The water quality in the Jingzhou section of the trunk stream of the Yangtze River remained above Class III, the qualified rate of the surface water quality in the national surface water examination section increased to 92.9％, the inferior Class V water in the main canals of the four lakes in the national surface water examination section have been fully eliminated, the qualified rate of the water quality of drinking water sources above the county level remained 100%, the qualified rate of the number of days with good air quality exceeded 90％, and the forest coverage rate increased to 36.7％.

Jingzhou has been selected into the Second Batch of Demonstration Cities of Urban Black and Odorous Water Treatment, and has successfully created National Hygienic City, National Forest City, National Green Model City and National Water-saving City. The construction of forest city cluster has become the model of plain and lake area in the middle reaches of Yangtze River and the only one in Hubei Province.
Now, walking on both sides of Ching River, the docks and chemical enterprises have been replaced by green trees, and the "barren land" has transformed into the Linjiang Park and the beautiful scenery can be seen anywhere.

On January 5, the Phase I of Jingzhou Rail-water Combined Transport & Storage and Distribution Base, an important transit point of the large channel for transporting the coal from the north to the south, was put into operation. As the biggest coal transit and trading platform in central China and one of the coal emergency reserve supply security platforms of Hubei Province, this Base's annual coal flow may reach up to 50 million tons during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and it has a static coal storage capacity of 5 million tons, fully supporting Jingzhou Coal Port to be built into a modern green multi-modal transport port with the largest scale and optimal indicators along the Yangtze River.
To promote the development of ecological industry, the transformation of a number of traditional enterprises speed the development driven by high technology, and the settlement of a batch of new enterprises injected fresh blood into high-quality development.
Hubei Midea Refrigerator Co., Ltd. and Hubei Henglong Auto System Group Co., Ltd. Hengsheng Factory were successfully selected into the 2020 China Benchmark Smart Factory Top 100; following Longchen Paper, Shanying Paper and Nine Dragons Paper, the paper project of Xianhe Co., Ltd. (a leading enterprise in domestic high-end special paper industry) has settled in Jingzhou; The construction of the Central China Surface Treatment Circular Economy Industrial Park invested by Hubei Kimou Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. has improved the surface treatment industrial chain of manufacturing industry in Jingzhou City and even Hubei Province.

Adhering to the principle of ecological priority, the cultural tourism zone integrates ecological concepts into the top-level design and reflects them in project construction.
