On December 29, the 1st National "Rural Ecology and Environment Protection" Awareness Campaign, hosted by the Rural Ecology and Environment Agency, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, organized by the Rural Ecology and Environment Agency of Hubei Province, the Jingzhou Agricultural Technology Promotion Center, the Shishou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Jiangling Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, kicked off in Jingzhou. Li Shaohua, Deputy Head of the Rural Ecology and Environment Agency, MARA; Ouyang Shuwen, Second Class Counsel of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Hubei Province and Deng Yingjun, Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government attended the kickoff ceremony. 

Addressing the kickoff ceremony, Deng said the sound development of Jingzhou is inseparable from a clear river and the high-quality development of Jingzhou's agriculture relies on a clean land. Jingzhou will further strengthen eco-civilization development, vigorously develop eco-circular agriculture, and continue to treat pollution from non-point agricultural sources, thereby promoting the green and high-quality development of agriculture.

Under the theme of "Treating pollution from non-point agricultural sources in the Yangtze River Economic Belt", this event aims to implement the strategy for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, step up efforts to protect the agricultural resource environment and promote the development of rural energy ecology, enhance the ecological and environmental awareness of farmers and new agricultural businesses, and create a favorable social atmosphere.
