Hongmen Road (Jingsha Boulevard-Local Railway) was open to traffic on December 31, the last day of 2021.

At about 9 am, the opening ceremony of Hongmen Road was held at Wuyue Plaza next to Hongmen Road. Huang Zhen, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, attended the ceremony and announced the opening of Hongmen Road.

Originally a cement road only 15 meters wide, Hongmen Road is now a 50-meter-wide road with arbors and shrubs. According to Han Jun, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the Jingzhou Municipal Center of Government-invested Project Construction Management, the 2.12-kilometer two-way six-lane road was built fully with utility channels and rainbow greenways. There are Shabei Water Eco-Park and a shopping plaza around the road.

The road is one of the few in Jingzhou fully with underground utility tunnels. Underground utility tunnels can transmit electricity, gas, tap water and communication signals.

The completion of Hongmen Road (Jingsha Boulevard-Local Railway) will greatly ease the traffic pressure of roads around Shabei New Area and facilitate travel. After the road is open to traffic, the time for traveling from the road to the high-speed rail station and the Jingzhou Airport will be reduced to 15 minutes and about 20 minutes respectively.
