According to a source with the Jingzhou Shashi Airport, the airport registered the largest passenger throughput among all newly-launched domestic feeder airports in 2021, coming out top among similar ones in terms of flight punctuality rate.

In its launching year, the airport operated soundly with a passenger throughput of 442,300, 4,701 flight arrivals and departures, an average passenger load factor of 56.6 percent and a flight punctuality rate of over 91 percent.

Under the principle of high-level planning, high-standard operation and high-quality guarantee, based on the needs of Jingzhou's industrial and tourism development and the travel demand of citizens, 12 routes including 17 waypoints have been launched for "point-to-point" connections with international air hubs like Beijing International Capital Airport, showing its advantage as a traffic hub leading to Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang to the east, Hunan to the south, Sichuan and Chongqing to the west and the Central Plains to the north. In terms of flight time, the airport has coordinated with airlines for prime time flights (prime time flights account for more than 90 percent). Also, the airport has launched customized airport buses to Songzi, Qianjiang, Shayang and other places, explored ways to serve passenger efficiently, realized seamless connections between bus shuttles and flights, optimized the mechanism of ground-air integrated support, deployed intelligent equipment for security checks and air traffic control, introduced and trained high-quality professionals, and ensured high flight punctuality rates.
