During inspecting COVID-19 control and work safety in the downtown on the afternoon of January 28, Wu Jin, Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, stressed that we should put people and life first, firmly establish safety awareness and bottom line thinking, strictly perform the responsibilities for COVID-19 control and work safety, strengthen duty attendance, and implement various measures, to ensure that the people spend a joyful and peaceful Spring Festival.

At Wanda Plaza and Lianghu Agricultural Product Trade Market, Wu communicated with heads of enterprises, inspecting the implementation of COVID-19 control measures, the maintenance of fire equipment, as well as the storage of fruits & vegetables, rice & noodles, meat & eggs and other supplies. As there are a growing number of visitors with the Spring Festival around the corner, the market should strictly implement COVID-19 control measures while ensuring work safety, strengthen the regulation of cold chain food and ensure supply during the festival through various channels, he said.

At the long-distance bus station of Xianxing Group and the Jingzhou Ancient City exit of Shanghai-Chongqing Highway, Wu inspected transport safety and the implementation of COVID-19 control measures. He stressed that we should stay vigilant, coordinate COVID-19 control with Spring Festival travel rush, tighten checks and control of persons arriving in Jingzhou and those coming and returning from medium & high-risk areas, conduct nucleic acid tests of arrivals, and work practically to guard against imported COVID-19 cases.

At quarantine points, Wu inquired about their operation and visited first-line anti-epidemic workers. He required that they should conduct closed-loop management, implement standardized measures and offer human-oriented services. He also told first-line anti-epidemic workers to protect themselves, keep warm and stay safe.

Then Wu headed for Fire Brigade of Jingzhou District to inspect its fire rescue and preparation work, and visit firefighters. He told them to treat the masses as relatives, and strengthen duty attendance during the Spring Festival, to ensure the peace and security of Jingzhou.

Xia Guanghong, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary General of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee; and Yan Hong, Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government participated in the survey.
