On the occasion of the Spring Festival, Jingzhou Municipal Committee of CPC and Jingzhou Municipal People's Government would like to extend greetings and best wishes to the 6.37 million citizens and to the people from all walks of life who have participated in and supported the reform and development of Jingzhou. Let us read the letter of the Spring Festival greetings titled Embrace the New Year with Sense of Responsibility, delivered by Wu Jin, secretary of Jingzhou Municipal Committee of CPC, and Zhou Zhihong, mayor of Jingzhou Municipal People's Government.

The past year was of great significance. In 2021, we embarked on a new journey, solemnly celebrated the centennial birthday of the Communist Party of China, conscientiously "studied the history of the Party", served the masses heart and soul, and worked hard to "open up a new landscape", drew wisdom and strength from the Party's historical glory and great achievements, and strived to win greater success!

Hubei Provincial Committee and Hubei Provincial Government attach great importance to Jingzhou and place great hopes on it, endowing the city with the historical mission of accelerating the construction of the regional central city. The whole city is going all out to live up to the expectations of Hubei Provincial Committee and Hubei Provincial Government by carrying out research activities, "double optimization" activities, "six special treatments" activities, as well as the "five major projects", and successfully completing the centralized transition at the levels of city, county, township and village. The direction for Jingzhou's development and the path of work are becoming clearer and the style of cadres more solid. The whole city, full of vigor and vitality, is going full steam ahead in high spirits.

Over the past year, thanks to its all-out efforts, Jingzhou has gone above and beyond all expectations despite the pressure. Faced with various difficulties and challenges, the whole city insisted on taking industrial revitalization as its mission, focusing on attracting investment and project construction and regarding business environment as its life. The "4611" modern industrial system has been initially constructed, and projects such as Xianhe Paper, Jinshan Chemical Industry, Stanley and Liugong Machinery have poured in one after another. The construction of projects such as Hualu Hengsheng and Nine Dragons Paper has been accelerated, and the total economic output has exceeded RMB270 billion, putting its economic development back to the main track. Jingzhou Shashi Airport has opened 12 routes to 17 destination cities, and the southern section of Shashi-Gong’an Expressway and the Honghu-Chibi Yangtze River Bridge have been completed and opened to traffic. It is more convenient for people living on both sides of Jingjiang River to travel, and faster for passengers to get to Jingzhou from other cities. The city has been crowned with the titles of "Safe China Construction Demonstration City" for four consecutive years and won the "Chang'an Cup" again. The sense of security and belonging of Jingzhou people has been strengthened, which should be attributed to the hard work of each and every citizen.

In 2021, there were so many people and touching moments worth remembering. Facing the epidemic, the "biggest variable", the whole city, despite the summer heat, worked all day and night fighting against "Delta" and finally won the battle against the epidemic in the shortest time and at the lowest cost. More than 700 full-time investment promotion cadres joined together, pledging to succeed in the "No.1 Project". A group of "pioneers" and iron-willed cadres worked hard silently, devoting themselves wholeheartedly to the "main economic battlefield". More than 3,000 rural revitalization secretaries and team members continued to join hands to help the masses to get rich. Thousands of community workers, volunteers and sanitation workers made selfless contributions to building Jingzhou into a "Garden City". What is particularly touching is that a group of role models such as Yang Jun from the political and legal system and Meituan rider Wang Jing conveyed their positive energy to the society and demonstrated the spirit of the era as citizens. Countless Jingzhou people have ignited the glory and dreams of Jingzhou in different ways, and we should pay tribute to all these ordinary heroes!

Shouldering the political responsibility and historical mission of building a regional central city in central Hubei province, we are about to stride into the Year of the Tiger. In the new year, Jingzhou will be going all out to achieve the goal that both its total economic output and total industrial output exceed RMB300 billion, and strive to create a new situation in the construction of a regional central city in central Hubei province.

In 2022, the construction of a number of transportation projects, such as Libu Yangtze River Rail-cum-Road Bridge, Xiantao-Honghu-Jianli Railway, Jingzhou section of Wuhan-Songzi Expressway, Dangyang-Zhijiang-Songzi Expressway and Jingmen-Jingzhou Railway, will be accelerated. Chusishui Street in Jingchu Cultural Garden will open to the public. A number of tourism projects, such as the Jingzhou Chu Cultural Industrial Park (Chuwang Town) and the Road-to-Revival Patriotism Education Base, will speed up their paces of construction. More scenic spots full of local characteristics are open to visitors. We will continue to follow the principles of making steady progress, increasing quantity and improving quality, realizing transformation and upgrading, and advancing by leaps and bounds, reach the consensus of "Three Missions", and comprehensively launch the "four battles", namely, industry, investment promotion, projects, and "double optimization". We will continue to focus on the key little things that people experience every day, such as posts, degrees, beds, stalls, parking spaces, toilet seats, etc., so that the achievements of reform and development can benefit the people of the whole city more extensively and fairly... Let us work together to build Jingzhou into a regional central city in central Hubei province and contribute our strength to speeding up the pace of "building a fulcrum, taking the lead and writing a new chapter" in Hubei province, thus greeting the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements.

The situation of epidemic prevention and control is still grim and complicated. At this luscious moment of family reunion, in order to stick to their posts, many comrades will stay and spend the Spring Festival in Jingzhou, fighting in the front line of production. Let us pay tribute to them! There are still many Jingzhou people working in other cities who, in answer to the call, will celebrate the New Year in the cities where they are and have to reunite with their families online, replacing "face-to-face" with "screen-to-screen". Thank them all for all that they have done for epidemic prevention. Let us look forward to gathering together again in our hometown when the crisis is over!
