Updated: 2022-03-07 09:54:41

Jingzhou-Shashi Railway, the first local railway in Hubei Province, has seen year-by-year increase in traffic volume in recent years. Recently, the reporter learned from Jingzhou Local Railway Co., Ltd. that from January to February, 2022, the traffic volume of Jingzhou-Shashi Railway has exceeded 1.06 million tons, exceeding the historical record.

Seeing from the sky, South Shashi Railway Station is close to the Yangtze River, and several vans of coal arrive in Jingzhou by railway, and then from the Yangtze River to Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing, and other areas.

It is understood that since 2022, Jingzhou-Shashi Railway has been extremely busy and lively, with an average daily load of nearly 400 vans and average daily traffic volume of 30,000 tons. From January to February, the traffic volume reached 1.06 million tons, an increase of 80,000 tons compared with that in the same period of last year, hitting a record high.

The increase in traffic volume is inseparable from Jingzhou's location advantage of sitting on the Yangtze River waterway. Jingzhou Local Railway Co., Ltd. has fully explored the new business model of "local railway + multimodal transport". Last year, the traffic volume of Jingzhou-Shashi Railway also broke through 5 million tons for the first time, realizing the historic development.

This year, Jingzhou-Shashi Railway will continue to be based on the two main battlefields of railway transportation and railway construction, make every effort to improve the efficiency of transportation services, and sprint to the traffic volume target of 6 million tons in the whole year.
