Recently, the automatic packing system was put into use at Cheyanghe Area of Jingzhou Port. The packing operation of 6,200 tons of iron ore in the first ship was successfully completed, with the operation time reduced from 4 days to 16 hours, which also indicates that Jingzhou Port has achieved a new breakthrough in automatic packing.

In recent years, Cheyanghe Port Area has made all-out efforts to develop its container business, relying on the advantage of being the only customs supervision area on the south bank of the Yangtze River in southwest Hubei. The workload of "changing from bulk to container" has shown a rapid-increasing trend. However, the traditional bulk packing operation still focuses on the mode of "loaders combined with manual labor", which is of low efficiency and suffers potential safety hazards such as damage and pollution. Cheyanghe Port Area and its technical cooperation unit jointly worked out a technical transformation scheme in terms of production technology, main varieties of goods and environmental requirements, and completed the construction drawing design, equipment manufacturing and on-site installation & commissioning efficiently within one week.

After the automatic packing system was put into use, the packing capacity per hour can reach up to 400 tons, with the single-box operation efficiency increased by 30 times, the comprehensive operation efficiency increased by 6 times, and the transfer cost per ton reduced by about 30%.
