The Jingzhou Municipal People's Government convened the Municipal Sci-tech Innovation Work Symposium on the morning of March 23. Jin Peng, Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, attended the symposium and delivered a speech.

Jin noted that sci-tech innovation is an important driver for industrial upgrading, a boost to allocation of factors and an important measure for promoting the high-quality development of a region. Now Jingzhou's innovation work is troubled by seven problems: the inadequacy in top-level design, the backwardness in data indicators, the shortage of major innovation platforms and new R&D institutions, the insufficiency in sci-tech input, the loose integration between innovation chains and industry chains, the weak overall functions of sci-tech systems, the low highlight in the province. The municipal sci-tech department should well plan the innovation work according to provincial and municipal plans, targets, policies and innovation demand, strengthen organizational leadership, promote and schedule the work more steadily, provide stronger guarantee, improve service capacity, optimize the innovation environment, and implement measures practically according to the work plans of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government.
