On March 24, Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government, visited Jingzhou District, Gong'an County, Shishou City, Jiangling County and Jianli City, to conduct a survey on ecological environment improvement, and supervise the construction of projects aimed to make up deficiencies in water conservancy, rural rejuvenation, and COVID-19 prevention and control. She stressed that we should keep political responsibility firm on our shoulders, unify our thoughts and actions on the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, apply the new development philosophy fully and properly, and accelerate the development of a green development demonstration area in Yangtze River Economic Belt and a rural rejuvenation demonstration area in Jianghan Plain.

Wherever she went, Zhou listened to reports on project planning and design carefully, inquiring about project progress. She noted that a favorable ecological environment lays the groundwork for the development of Jingzhou. We should earnestly implement Xi Jinping's thought on eco-civilization, keep to a new path of eco-oriented high-quality development, persist in ecological restoration, environmental protection and green development, build a solid green shield, improve green benefits, and uphold green trends, thus making green a distinctive feature of high-quality development of Jingzhou.

Zhou called for efforts to accelerate the development of the beautiful countryside, press ahead with the rural development action, formulate practical village plans, seize opportunities from central policies, step up the construction of irrigation and water conservancy works, improve agricultural public services in an accelerated manner, create demonstrative beautiful courtyards, villages and towns, develop beautiful countryside demonstration areas and belts according to local conditions, advance the transformation of rural areas into scenic areas and resources into assets, and meet the people's yearning for a good life with substantial results in beautiful countryside development.

Zhou stressed that we should coordinate COVID-19 prevention and control with economic and social development, see that responsibilities are fulfilled by localities, departments, entities and individuals, strengthen checks of persons from medium & high-risk areas, implement prevention and control measures such as temperature measurement, code check and nucleic acid testing, and keep command systems, work mechanisms and standby forces active.
