On April 13, Wu Jin, secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee, Zhou Zhihong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Jingzhou, met with Chen Hui, Party secretary and chairman of Hubei Airport Group Co., Ltd., Li Zhonglu, deputy Party secretary and general manager of Hubei Airport Group Co., Ltd. Wu Jin extended his warm welcome to Chen Hui and his party, saying that Hubei Airport Group has maintained long-term cooperation with Jingzhou, provided strong support for the opening, construction and operation of Jingzhou Shashi Airport, and effectively promoted the economic and social development of Jingzhou. Jingzhou will fully support Hubei Airport Group in its reform according to the arrangement of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Hubei Provincial People’s Government, and help the province's air transportation sector to form a network, hoping that Hubei Airport Group will give full play to its own advantages and give more support to Shashi Airport in renovation and upgrading, expansion of freight functions, opening of new air routes and allocation of human resources, so as to realize mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between the two sides in a larger space and at a higher level.

Chen said that according to the reform requirements of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Hubei Provincial People’s Government, Hubei Airport Group will speed up the strategic reorganization of Hubei’s civil aviation resources, realize the integrated management and complementary development of the province’s trunk and branch airports, and accelerate the formation of the development pattern of "double hubs and multiple branches".
