In recent years, Jingzhou District has accelerated the pace of the evacuation of the ancient city and promoted the urban renewal according to the concept of "connecting in the east, advancing in the west, spanning in the south and expanding in the north". As an important area for the northward expansion of the city, through nearly three years of construction, the north area of the city has gradually improved its infrastructure and road network structure, taking on a new look with each passing day. A beautiful new city full of vigor and vitality is taking shape.

Yingxi Road is the main passage connecting the railway station with the north area, starting from Lingjun Road on the south and ending at Yingtai Road on the north, covering a total length of 1,265 meters with four two-way lanes. The Road is currently open to traffic. The journalist saw that Chinese tulip trees and osmanthus trees are lined neatly on both sides of the wide asphalt pavement and that there was a lot of traffic on the road.

Zhang Zhanyang is manager of the Jingzhou District City-North Project of China Construction Third Bureau. He said, the construction of Yingxi Road is nearing completion, the work on traffic safety and greening has been completed, and it is currently in the stage of preparation for acceptance and handover. It is expected that the project can be delivered and put into use in late May or early June.

Renmin North Road is the main road connecting Fuxing Avenue and Development Avenue in the north area of the city, with six two-way lanes and a total length of 1,676 meters. Currently the construction of Renmin North Road is nearing completion.

Ouyang Zhe, PM of the project of China Construction Third Bureau, said that the road has been completed and put into use. Currently, the work on sidewalk attachment, lighting, traffic safety and greening is close to completion. It is expected that construction will be completed and the road will open to traffic in June.

The infrastructure construction project in the north area of Jingzhou District starts from Yingcheng Ancient Site on the east, reaches Xingang Avenue on the west, borders Jingzhou Ancient City on the south, and connects Wuhan-Yichang Expressway on the north, including 33 roads and 4 channels and totaling 37 sub-projects. Specifically, the project includes 5 main roads, 7 secondary roads and 21 branch roads. The total length of road construction is about 43.7 kilometers and the length of channel management is about 7.5 kilometers. The total investment is 1.774 billion yuan and the total construction period of the project is 5 years.

Dozens of newly-built urban roads are interwoven into a network which is shaping the contour of the north area currently under construction.

As the receiving area of the evacuation of the ancient city, the City-North Area will become the "main battlefield" for the key construction and development of Jingzhou District in the future. With the improvement of infrastructure and the enhancement of its comprehensive service level, Jingzhou District will further expand its urban radiation function, and the people’s living environment and urban landscape will be significantly improved.
