On May 20, the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government and State Grid Hubei Electric Power Company (State Grid Hubei) was held in Wuhan.

Present were Wu Jin, Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee; Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government; Jin Peng, Vice Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government; Li Shengquan, Chairman and Party Secretary of State Grid Hubei; and Wu Yingzi, Director, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of State Grid Hubei.

Wu expressed his heartfelt thanks to State Grid Hubei for improving Jingzhou's grid infrastructure, and ensuring power supply and safety for key projects and residents in Jingzhou. Jingzhou is leveraging its strengths such as superior location, Yangtze River Golden Waterway and multimodal transport, to accommodate industrial transfer, promote the rejuvenation of the industrial economy and advance urbanization rapidly, he said. Now Jingzhou ranks top in Hubei in terms of the growth of fixed assets investment. The installed capacity of high voltage electricity in Jingzhou has multiplied, making it urgent to further intensify power supply support, the construction of main and distribution networks, rural power grid renovation investment and upgrading, and improve the convenience and satisfaction of power access. Through the signing of the cooperative agreement, he hoped that the two sides would further deepen cooperation, enhance mutual trust, jointly empower the building of Jingzhou into a regional center city and create a new model for government-enterprise win-win cooperation.

State Grid Hubei will take this opportunity to focus on power supply support and energy transformation, promote the high-quality development of power grids, accelerate the establishment of a clean, low-carbon, sound and efficient energy system, supply greener energy, improve the business environment, and provide stronger power support for Jingzhou to accelerate the building of a regional center city, achieve new economic leaps, improve development levels and achieve new urban breakthroughs, Li said.

Under this agreement, State Grid Hubei will invest no less than 6 billion yuan in the fourteenth five-year period, to promote the coordinated development of power grids at all levels in Jingzhou. By late 2025, Jingzhou will be up to advanced standards of similar domestic areas in terms of grid intelligence and digitalization, and achieve a new energy installed capacity of 3.5GW, to constantly enhance the people and market entities' sense of power access.

At the signing ceremony, the attendees also watched the promotional video of Jingzhou.
