On June 28, Jingzhou Municipal Government and Changjiang Yan’an Railway Group jointly held a work symposium to exchange views on establishing a multimodal transport system with a rational and efficient structure along the Yangtze River and its implementation plan so as to promote regional economic development.
Ma Chunshan, Party secretary and chairman of Changjiang Yan’an Railway Group, Men Jinyong, deputy general manager of Changjiang Yan’an Railway Group, Zhang Changneng, vice president of China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Institute, Liu Huiwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor of Jingzhou, and Yang Yunchun, vice chairman of Jingzhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and director of Jingzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau, attended the symposium.
Ma Chunshan said, as the Yangtze River Economic Belt is a major national strategic development area, vigorously developing multimodal transport is of great significance to improving the efficiency of the three-dimensional transportation corridor in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the comprehensive logistics cost. Jingzhou has a long history and obvious transportation advantages. Through the investigation, the orientation of Jingzhou in the railway along the Yangtze River will be further defined, and the research of freight infrastructure construction and multimodal transport planning and development along the Yangtze River will be promoted in a coordinated manner so as to make Jingzhou the breakthrough point for the Group to carry out its first project in Hubei Province.
In recent years, Liu Huiwen said, Jingzhou has bent over backwards to make up for its weakness in transportation, and is currently building a high-quality development demonstration zone in Jianghan Plain, which has brought a series of opportunities. Liu also expressed the hope that Changjiang Yan’an Railway Group will give full play to its comprehensive advantages, effectively combine the national strategic deployment with local development, give support to railway planning, construction, multimodal transport and other fields, and help Jingzhou make its way into the national unified market and integrate into the new development pattern of international and domestic double circulation.
Prior to the symposium, Ma had visited Yanka Port in Jingzhou to conduct an investigation into the construction planning, operation management, investment and financing models and policies concerning the development of Jingzhou's social and economic industries, freight railways and multimodal transport.
