On the afternoon of July 6, Zhou Zhihong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Jingzhou, inspected the construction site of the University Town and offered guidance on its planning and construction. She stressed that it is necessary to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech made during his Hubei inspection and the spirit of the 12th Party Congress of Hubei Province, do a good job in the planning and construction of the University Town at a high level and with high quality, and make every effort to build a new highland for production, education, research and application, thus injecting new vitality into the accelerated construction of the high-quality development demonstration area in Jianghan Plain.

Zhou inspected the "4+4" project site of the University Town Urban Exhibition Hall, Central Park, and Jingzhou Institute of Science and Technology (under preparation), held a promotion coordination meeting, listened to relevant work reports and fully affirmed the progress made in the construction of the University Town. She said, the University Town is a special project which carries the functions of the upgrading of urban level, transformation of development momentum, innovation of scientific and educational resources, optimization of the living environment, and improvement of people's livelihood and well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to further optimize the construction organization, strengthen the guarantee of elements, and improve quality and efficiency to ensure that the construction of the project is proceeding in an orderly and effective manner according to the timetable.

Zhou stressed that the University Town Urban Exhibition Hall is an important window and platform for showcasing Jingzhou's technological innovation capabilities and modern industrial system. The exhibition hall should be further optimized in terms of its content and layout to become a model and benchmark in Hubei Province.
