On the morning of July 15, the "Friendship Cities Sharing the Future", an event for teenagers from friendship cities in China and Japan to introduce their hometowns, sponsored by the Hubei People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, was held in Wuhan. Zhang Xiaomei, director of the Foreign Affairs Office under the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and president of the Hubei People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the event and delivered a speech respectively. Representatives from the Foreign Affairs Office under the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee (Jingzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries), the Planning and Adjustment Department and the Tourism Department of Aizuwakamatsu, Jingzhou’s friendship city in Japan, and the Japan-China Friendship Association of the Friendship City of Japan attended the event.

Representatives of the two cities conducted virtual exchange visits on the cloud, introducing the beauty of their hometowns and strengthening friendship.

At the Jingzhou venue, representatives of the two cities exchanged greetings and gave best wishes. Focusing on the exchanges between them, recalling the past and looking forward to the future development blueprint, four young college students from the Japanese Department of Yangtze University exchanged views with representatives of the friendship city on issues such as its history, culture and folk customs. During the activity, the young representatives of the two cities fully demonstrated the historical sites, scenic spots and development changes of their cities through short videos and PPT, thus further enhancing understanding and deepening friendship.

Since Jingzhou and Aizuwakamatsu became friendship cities in 1991, the two cities have carried out frequent high-level exchanges, including non-governmental exchanges. In particular, exchanges and cooperation in the fields of medical care and youth exchanges have been quite fruitful. The people of the two cities understand each other, care for each other, support each other, and give wishes to each other, and their friendship has been continuously deepened. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, through the aforesaid activity, the youth of the two cities will inherit the profound friendship forged by their predecessors, further deepen the cultural exchanges, and spread the seeds of Sino-Japanese friendship to more people so as to bear more fruits between China and Japan. In the future, the two cities will continue to strengthen multi-level and multi-field exchanges and cooperation to create a mutually beneficial win-win situation to benefit the people of the two cities.
