At the Hunan-Hubei-Chongqing-Guizhou Red Tourism Promotion Conference held recently, 17 municipal and prefectural governments from four provinces and municipalities (Hunan, Hubei, Chongqing and Guizhou) jointly signed a cooperation framework agreement on red tourism. In order to showcase and promote red tourism resources and contribute to the high-quality development of red tourism in these regions, Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism launched 15 classic red tourism routes with five themes.

It is reported that the five major themes of red tourism are "journey of reliving the revolutionary years in western Hunan and Hubei", "journey of remembering the revolutionary martyrs and inheriting the red genes", "journey of carrying forward the spirit of fighting floods and creating a beautiful new picture of Jingjiang River", "journey of following the footsteps of the sages and forging ahead in a new era" and "journey of experiencing the beauty of the countryside in support of rural revitalization". These theme routes include revolutionary education, clean government education, and fine traditions inheritance, covering not only the former revolutionary sites, famous tourist towns, but also cultural attractions known for Jingchu culture. Jingzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has organized 15 tour routes according to the highlights of the trip.

"Journey of reliving the revolutionary years in western Hunan and Hubei" is mainly a tour route connected by the old revolutionary sites such as Zhoulaozui in Jianli and capital of the Soviet areas in west Hunan and Hubei Provinces in Qujiawan in Honghu. "Journey of remembering the revolutionary martyrs and inheriting the red genes" includes three routes: a two-day tour of Honghu Red Guards, a two-day tour of Jianli - Inheriting the red genes, and a one-day tour of Jiangning. "Journey of carrying forward the spirit of fighting floods and creating a beautiful new picture of Jingjiang River" is a tour route covering scenic spots such as Wanshou Park, Binjiang Park, Nanzha of Jingjiang Flood Diversion Area and Tieniuji of Jiangling Binjiang Park. "Journey of following the footsteps of the sages and forging ahead in a new era" includes five routes: a five-day Jingchu culture-themed tour, a three-day intangible cultural heritage-themed tour, a tour of Shishou themed "The Red Army flag fluttering on the tree", a tour of Songzi Weishui Scenic Spot themed science popularization of red culture, and a tour of three men of letters' hometown in Gongan County. "Journey of experiencing the beauty of the countryside in support of rural revitalization" includes five tour routes: one-day tour of the beautiful countryside in Jingzhou District, one-day tour of the beautiful countryside in Shashi District, a two-day tour of the beautiful countryside in Xiejiaping in Songzi, a two-day tour of the beautiful countryside in Banzhudang Town in Gongan, and a one-day tour of the beautiful countryside in Honghu.
