On August 26, the announcement of the sixth batch of China's 20th-century architectural heritage projects and the architectural heritage inheritance and innovation seminar were held in Wuhan City. The sixth batch of "China's 20th-century Architectural Heritage" projects was announced at the seminar, and 10 sites in Hubei Province, including the former site of Western Hunan-Hubei Revolutionary Base in Qujiawan, were among them.
There are 21 former sites and 18 ruins, including CPC Central Committee Western Hunan-Hubei Branch, CPC Western Hunan-Hubei Provincial Committee, Revolutionary Military Commission of Western Hunan-Hubei, and Red Flag Daily, in the former site of Western Hunan-Hubei Revolutionary Base in Qujiawan, of which 15 former sites and 8 ruins are concentrated in the ancient street of Qujiawan Town. Since its reopening in 1985, the former site of Western Hunan-Hubei Revolutionary Base has given full play to its function of red education and inheritance, and has received more than 10 million visitors.
It is understood that the first batch of "China's 20th-century Architectural Heritage" projects was announced in 2016. So far, 597 projects of more than ten categories like commemorative buildings, hall buildings, educational, scientific, cultural, and sports buildings, residences and residential quarters, medical buildings, office buildings, hotel buildings, transportation buildings, commercial buildings, and industrial buildings, have been announced in 6 batches.
