On the morning of August 30, the municipal government held a special meeting on domestic waste sorting. Zhou Zhihong, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and mayor, attended the meeting and stressed that we should earnestly implement the guiding principles of the 12th provincial Party congress, adhere to the philosophy of co-creation, take various measures to mobilize all people to participate in waste sorting, and make every effort to create a "Jingzhou Model" of domestic waste sorting, to develop and raise the quality of the city with high quality civilization. 

Zhou Zhihong pointed out that domestic waste sorting is related to the overall situation of improvement in people's living environment and high-quality development, and it is a livelihood project crucial to thousands of households. In accordance with the ideas of "bolstering areas of weakness, furthering advancement, and forming long-term effects," we should benchmark our work against the assessment system of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the working level in advanced cities and focus on making up for gaps, raising standards, and bolstering areas of weakness, striving to improve the modernization of domestic waste sorting and treatment. It is necessary to highlight key points and make long-term efforts. We should take the construction of demonstration areas as the guide, actively explore and practice, and advance the gradual deepening, comprehensive spread, and scientific and orderly development of waste sorting. Efforts should be made to increase publicity and guidance, pay close attention to the development of health habits, and strive to build a new pattern of waste sorting with common construction, governance, and sharing 

Zhou Zhihong stressed that we should adhere to the problem-oriented approach, focus on key links such as sorting, discarding, transporting, and disposal of waste, and concentrate on tackling blockages and difficulties. It is necessary to strengthen factor guarantees, give full play to the guiding role of financial funds, encourage and support social capital to participate in domestic waste sorting, and effectively enhance the application of information technology in the waste sorting system. Efforts should be made to strengthen coordination and linkage, make scientific layout of outlets, improve the collection and transportation system, and accelerate the integration of renewable resource recycling and domestic waste sorting. It is imperative to strengthen timely supervision, inspection, guidance, adjustment, and correction of any problems found to ensure the quality of work. We should earnestly do a good job in the decomposition, supervision and inspection, evaluation and assessment, and other work in regard to the waste sorting task, and effectively advance the implementation of waste sorting.
