Construction of Jingzhou’s major projects is well underway as evidenced by the Sci-Tech Innovation Park in the University City

On the afternoon of September 16, a Hubei Daily reporter visited the construction site of the Digital Industry Innovation Center Project and saw dozens of construction workers working against the clock with the aid of tower cranes. According to a director from Jingzhou Chengfa Education Development Co., Ltd., the Digital Industry Innovation Center is divided into two phases: Urban Brain and Digital Building. Phase I, which is now under construction, with a construction area of more than 7,500 square meters, has entered the ground construction stage and is expected to be delivered on December 31.

About 500 meters to the east along Jingjiang Avenue is the newly completed urban exhibition hall of the University City with a total investment of about RMB60 million and a construction area of some 4,600 square meters. The exhibition hall, which has three floors, have been basically decorated and furnished. The exhibition work on the first floor and the second floor is still underway, and the industrial innovation exhibition hall on the third floor has finished its planning and is scheduled to be put into operation on September 30.

At the exhibition hall on the first floor which is divided into four parts, a promotional video of the University City is being played on the big LED screen. Besides the basic information and overall planning of the University City, it also introduces the long education history of Chongwen in the old city of Jingzhou and the "4611" modern industrial system.

The Sci-Tech Innovation Park is a start-up project in the core area of the University City, with a planned area of 48.7 hectares, a construction area of 1.08 million square meters and a planned investment of RMB10.4 billion. The project will build industrial presence focusing on industries with characteristic advantages such as petroleum and petrochemical equipment and smart health, plan to develop 12 sub-projects such as headquarters sci-tech park, college students' entrepreneurship center, cultural and creative center, talent apartment, etc., building a sci-tech smart valley integrating "achievement transformation, innovation incubation, business office, foreign exchange and supporting services".

According to a director of the project headquarters, two subprojects, i.e., the Sci-Tech Innovation Building and the Academic Exchange Center, will be launched in October this year. The former, which is planned to be built into a twin tower, will become a new landmark of the city.
