The Report to the 20th National Congress stresses that we should "consolidate the foundation of food security in an all-round way, firmly hold the red line of 1.8 billion mu of cultivated land and ensure food security for Chinese people". The Report on the development of agriculture and rural areas has let Jingzhou's agricultural workers realize that their mission is glorious and their responsibility heavy.

In the past five years, Jingzhou has steadily promoted the structural reform of agricultural supply side, accelerated agricultural transition, increased farmers' income, upgraded the green development of agriculture, improved farmland infrastructure, and gradually enhanced the quality and safety of agricultural products. A total of 6.7 million mu of high-standard farmland has been built in the city, and the qualified rate of quality and safety sampling of agricultural products has reached 98%.
