Updated: 2022-11-12 15:24:08

The Central Park is an important infrastructure project in Jingzhou University Town. It will also supplement certain urban functions and improve the living quality of the residents. At present, the park has mostly completed its construction stage and is expected to open after 2023 New Year's Day.

The Jingzhou University Town Central Park Project is located between East Yingdu Road and East Central Road, adjacent to Jingjiang Avenue in the south in the city center's university town. The park covers a total area of 10 hectares, including a 9.76 hectares of constructed area, with a total investment of 170 million yuan. Different from regular parks, Jingzhou University Town Central Park has incorporated even more science and tech elements, making intelligent facilities part of the landscape itself. This enables smart navigation in the park, creating a brand-new experience.

"The Central Park is the first intelligent park in Hubei Province. There are 16 smart subsystems in total, including intelligent the running track, lighting, smart bathrooms, automatic storage cabinets, solar seats, sightseeing decks, responsive fountains, etc. For example, in the smart fountain system, the stream speed and the lighting effects can be determined by the cycling speed of the visitor. For night runners, we set up an 800-meter interactive lighting system that changes as the runner moves forward. There is also a constellation-themed lighting system, which transitions among 10 zodiac consultations as visitors spend time on it.

Jingzhou University Town Central Park project will further include a reception center, an ecological lake, on-water sightseeing decks, multi-functional lawns, interactive walls along the running track, smart interactive facilities, AI intelligent tracks, skateboard field and so on. Adjacent to the main entrance of the park, the reception center is an oval building with a full-glass curtain wall. The water area of the park reaches 1.26 hectares, and up to 69.6% of the total park area is covered by greenery.

"The underlying ground has already been paved at Central Park, and it is expected to be topped with colored asphalt during the second half of this month. 80% of the tree planting has been completed, and while the planting off ground cover, bushes and grass is also currently in process. The overall greening is expected to be fully completed in early December. The construction of key infrastructure is also going smoothly as planned. For example, the construction of the visitor reception center's roof, interior and exterior is currently in progress, expected to be completed in late December. The outdoor infrastructure includes a sunken plaza, where benches are currently being installed, expected to be completed in early December. One of the most anticipated features of the park is the bridge that already went viral on social media. At present, a roof is being built over the bridge. Once completed, it will be a popular attraction among social media users." Said Ai Changwen, on-site supervisor of Jingzhou University Town Central Park Project by Jingzhou Municipal Construction Group Co., Ltd.

The Jingzhou University Town Central Park Project follows the "ecologically minded, people-oriented, tech-driven and interactive" as its design principles. Centering on tech innovation as the core, it creates a "landscape + technology" experience and transforms the park into a modern landmark of the city. After completion, the park will enhance the public space vitality and quality in Jingzhou University Town, and greatly improve the living quality of nearby residents.
