Recently, the new project of Hubei W-olf Photoelectric Co., Ltd. (W-olf) on Shenzhen Avenue, next to its old plant, was under intense construction.

"The overall project area is much larger than that of the old plant, this building is a first-phase plant building, the main structure has been completed, the upcoming work includes land leveling, interior decoration, equipment entry, installation and commissioning, and the whole project is expected to be completed next June," said Wang Ping, Liaison Manager of the President Office of W-olf. With an area of about 300 mu, a planned floor area of about 100,000 square meters, and a total investment of more than 700 million yuan, the proposed production center of infrared cut-off filters for blue glass and biometric filters is composed of three workshops, an R & D building, an office building and two dormitory buildings. The project will be constructed in three phases and put into operation step by step.

"Several new products will be launched successively after the center was put into operation, such as biometric filters that go with the development trend of precision photoelectric thin film components," said Wang. Biometric filters can be used for iris recognition, 3D face recognition and gesture recognition on smartphones, and gesture recognition on tablet PCs, wearable devices and autonomous driving, 3D modeling and motion tracking.

W-olf is a high-tech enterprise specialized in the R&D, production and sales of precision photoelectric thin film components. The company's key products are infrared cut-off filters for blue glass, which are mainly used in digital imaging fields such as phone camera, built-in camera for computer, car camera and security camera. In recent years, the company has strengthened strategic distribution, kept improving its R&D level, developed innovative products and processes, and achieved sustained growth, thus becoming a globally influential enterprise. This year, the company overcame the epidemic and other adverse effects, to set up overseas offices and establish overseas sales teams, showing its strong momentum abroad. The company reported exports of 305 million yuan from January to April this year, up 112.6% year on year.

"Now, one in five mobile phones produced worldwide comes with a piece of infrared cut-off filter for blue glass from us," Wang said proudly. To grow bigger and stronger, ramp up production, optimize the production layout and enhance its core competitiveness, the company launched a new project this April. "At its full capacity, the project can turn out 300 million infrared cut-off filters for blue glass and 120 million biometric filters, create more than 1,000 jobs, and increase our output value by about three times."
