The report to the 20th CPC National Congress calls for efforts to move faster to build up China's strength in agriculture and reinforce the foundations for food security on all fronts. As a large agricultural city and grain-producing city, Jingzhou has constantly raise the rate of agricultural mechanization, to fill grain growers with confidence in the important plans set forth in the report.

In the early winter, the winter wheat that was just sown has sprouted new green buds. In a farm field of Qingmei Professional Agricultural Machinery Cooperative, several growers were operating drones against the chilly wind to fertilize the wheat field. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.

Replacing labor with machinery is already the normal growing mode of Qingmei Professional Agricultural Machinery Cooperative. There is some large farm equipment in the cooperative's warehouse. Tang Qingmei, a head of the cooperative, excitedly introduced the new tractors she had just purchased this year.

This year alone, the cooperative purchased five tractors, two dryers and two drying towers, with a total value of nearly two million yuan. This year, the yield of the rape fields contracted by the cooperative was up to 175 kilograms per mu, higher than that in the previous years. Every rape seed harvested has gone to the granary.

Tang also told us that the operated area per day could be up to more than 100 mu if they used tractors and rotary tillers for furrowing, sowing and fertilization, while the operated area would be only 20 mu at most if they resorted to labor. The constant rise in the level of agricultural mechanization also boosted her confidence in farming.

In recent years, all tractors and harvesters in Jingzhou have been installed with BeiDou terminal systems to ensure precise services for agricultural production; and Jingzhou has granted subsidies of 20 million yuan for agricultural mechanization.

With an agricultural mechanization rate of 81.7%, Jingzhou is now at the intermediate stage of agricultural machinery development. As farming mainly relies on agricultural machinery, it has become the main force in rural revitalization.
