Jingzhou Pledges to Invest RMB 13 billion in the Highway and Waterway Projects in 2023

The reporter learned from the city-wide transport meeting, that Jingzhou, targeting at “Hundred Million-Ton Port, Millions of TEUs, Hundred Billion-Yuan Industrial Scale”, will strive to build itself a transportation and logistics center in Jianghan Plain, a national comprehensive transport hub in Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen metropolitan area, a railway-water intermodal transport hub for bulk commodity, and a railway-water intermodal transportation, distribution and trading base for coal, iron ore, agricultural products, and chemical products, actively contributing to the construction of the Jianghan Plain high-quality development demonstration zone.

Jingzhou will invest RMB 13 billion in highway and waterway projects in 2023, including RMB 6.303 billion for highway projects, RMB 2.544 billion for trunk roads and “physical connectivity” projects, RMB 1.528 billion for rural roads, RMB 836 million for port and waterway projects, and RMB 1.789 billion for logistics stations. The turnover volume of freight transport will increase by 8%. The number of standard-sized enterprises will increase by 10%, reaching more than 50. The volume of freight handled at ports will exceed 70 million tons. The trading volume of coal and iron ore will exceed 12 million tons and 6 million tons respectively. The number of containers will exceed 200,000 TEUs.
